Bring your WordPress site over

Tsurito reads your current website first. It tells you what can come over and what cannot, before anything is created and before your assistant spends any of your subscription.

Your current website is only read. Nothing on it changes, and it stays online as it is.

  1. On the “How would you like to begin?” screen, write the name of your business in “What is it called?”.
  2. Choose “Bring my current site”.
  3. Type the address of your current website, for example https://www.example.com.
  4. Press “Look at my site”. Tsurito says “Looking at your site…”.
  5. Read the answer. It is one of three:
    • “This site can be brought over”.
    • “Most of this site can be brought over”.
    • “This one is better started again”.
  6. Read the lists below the answer. They say what comes across, what is replaced, and what does not come. Read What comes over and what does not.
  7. Check the pages. Tsurito brings all the pages it found. To bring only some, press “Choose which”, untick the pages you do not want, and press “Done”.
  8. Answer “Are the pictures of your current site yours to use?”. Press “Yes, bring my pictures” if you took them, bought them for any use, or have permission. Otherwise press “Bring the site without its pictures”.
  9. Press “Create the site”.
  10. The website opens, and your assistant starts by itself. Tsurito shows “Bringing your site over”, the step it is on and how long it has been working. Press “Stop” if you want it to stop.

Your assistant now reads your pages and rebuilds them here, with your words and your contact details, in the sections of our designs.

Before you start, Tsurito tells you how long it takes, for example “Bringing 20 pages takes about 10 to 20 minutes”. Your assistant rebuilds the pages one by one and checks each against your current site. A website with many pages takes longer. You can choose fewer pages and add the rest later.

Keep your computer awake while your assistant works.

Tsurito reads WordPress websites in depth. It can also look at other websites, such as Wix, Squarespace or Shopify. For those, it can sometimes read only the outside of the website. Then it says “Only the outside of this site could be read, so these numbers are what was visible.”

If your website lives from something Tsurito does not do, such as a shop with a basket and payment, Tsurito says “This one is better started again”. Nothing is created. You can press “Start a new site from a description instead”.

  1. Open “Website” and look at every page.
  2. Ask for any change in “Tasks”. Read Change your website by talking.
  3. Check your photos. Read Photos and images.
  4. Publish it. Read Publish your website.
  5. When you are ready, connect your domain. It stays where it is. Read Keep your domain and Google.
