Limits and extras
What is measured
Section titled “What is measured”Each website is measured by what it uses, never by megabytes of traffic. Photos, files and downloads opened by visitors do not count, and a website can have as many pages as you like.

A page view is one page of your website opened by a visitor. If one visitor opens three pages, that is three page views. Pages opened at the private address of an older version are not counted. Page views are counted once a day, and every hour once the website passes 80% of them.
The space of a website with a subscription is the most it used during the month.
What you see in the app
Section titled “What you see in the app”In “Online”, under “This month”, each website shows a bar for each thing measured, with how much it has used. A bar turns amber from 80%, and red when the website has stopped at a limit. A free website also shows “Publications today, all free websites”.
“Extras this month” shows what has been added so far: for all your websites in “Your websites online”, and for each website with a subscription in “Online”, under “This month”.
A free website at its limits
Section titled “A free website at its limits”- Page views: it rests until the next month, with a short note for visitors saying when it will be back.
- Space: publishing waits until some space is freed.
- Contact messages: the form takes no more until the next month. The WhatsApp button keeps working.
- Publications: they can continue the next day.
Nothing is ever charged for a free website. If it needs more, a subscription for the website includes more of everything. Read Pay for a website.
A website with a subscription beyond what is included
Section titled “A website with a subscription beyond what is included”You choose what happens, with one switch for everything:
- It carries on. Each small extra is added to its subscription: each further 10,000 page views, 2 GB of space or 1,000 messages, or part of them, and each further domain every month. This is the normal choice.
- It stops at the limit. Its page views rest until its next renewal day, publishing waits for space, the form takes no more messages while the WhatsApp button keeps working, and no further domain can be added. Nothing beyond the subscription is charged.
In “Online”, under “This month”, press “Stop the website at the limit” or “Let it carry on past the limit”.
For example, a website that has 125,000 page views, reaches 2.5 GB at its highest and receives 1,200 messages in its month adds three steps of page views, one of space and one of messages: five small extras. The prices page says what each costs.
We tell you before
Section titled “We tell you before”We never want an extra to be a surprise. We write to you by email:
- on a website with a subscription, when it reaches 50%, 80% and 95% of what is included;
- on a free website, at 80% and 95%;
- when it reaches a limit;
- at every further step beyond it, with the total so far;
- with one summary of the month, three days before the renewal that charges the extras.
Each warning email has a link to stop the website at the limit in one click. The summary lists each extra and the total, and each extra has its own line on the invoice.
When a subscription is cancelled
Section titled “When a subscription is cancelled”If the website’s subscription is cancelled, the extras so far are charged on the day the subscription ends. Anything in the last three days before that day is not charged.
