Change it yourself, in Edit

You do not always need your assistant. For a small change, such as a price or a sentence, you can change the website yourself in “Edit”. On its left there are four parts:

PartWhat you can change
“Pages”The words and images of every page, in the visual editor.
“On every page”“Site name”, “Button in the top bar”, “Show a message across the top”, “Line at the bottom of every page” and “Legal line”.
“Look”The colours and type of the whole website, and your logo. Read Start from a design.
“Contact”“Email”, “Telephone”, “Address, one line each”, “Opening hours, as “Days: hours"" and the WhatsApp button. Read The contact form and WhatsApp.

To hide the list of parts, press the button at the top left; press it again to bring it back.

  1. Open your website and choose “Edit”. Tsurito says “Loading the editor…”.
  2. Your page appears with a form beside it.
  3. Click on a text or an image in the page, or find it in the form.
  4. Change it. The page shows the change as you type.
  5. Save your change.

The visual editor changes the words and images of the sections that are already there. To add a new page or a new kind of section, ask your assistant in “Tasks”.

If the editor does not load, Tsurito says “The editor did not load”. Press the reload button at the top right, or open “Tasks” and come back.

These show your website beside them, so you see each change. Press “Hide website” for more room, and “Website beside” to bring it back. After a change, press “Save”. Tsurito says “Saved. The preview shows it.”

  1. Open “Edit” and choose “Look”.
  2. Press “Choose an image” and pick your logo. It can be a PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG file.
  3. Your logo shows in the top bar instead of the site name.

To take it away, press “Remove the logo”.

In “Contact”, write one line for each group of days, with a colon between the days and the hours. For example:

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00 to 18:00
  • Saturday: 10:00 to 14:00

These belong to the website on the internet, so they are in “Online”: your own domain under “Domains”, and visitor numbers under “Visitors”. Read Use your own domain.

A website with a subscription can count its visitors, without cookies and without following anyone across the web. Open “Online”, choose “Visitors”, and tick “Count visits to this site”. Then publish, so that it counts on the internet. You see the visits of the last 30 days there. A free website does not have visitor numbers.

Everything stays on your computer until you publish

Section titled “Everything stays on your computer until you publish”

Changes in “Edit” are on your computer. Publish to put them on the internet. The domain is the exception: it works directly on the published website.
